Spate of fly-tips laced with asbestos near Deanshanger

The taxpayer has been left carrying the cost after a spate of fly-tips along the border of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire which included harmful asbestos.

During August and September environmental enforcement officers from South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) were called to five fly-tips, all situated off the A422 between Leckhampstead and Old Stratford.

Form drop complete for annual electoral canvass

Form drop complete for annual electoral canvass

Forms have now been sent to all 40,427 households across South Northamptonshire as part of the annual canvass which requires all eligible voters to confirm or update their details on the electoral register.

Local Plan Consultation

South Northamptonshire Council is soon to start a public consultation on our Local Plan Part 2- Pre-Submission document. This document will set out planning policies on housing, employment, retail and the environment.

Please see the poster advertising the consultation either on the village notice board or as attached to this news item.

Bank Holiday bins and opening times

Bank Holiday bins and opening times

Bin collections in South Northamptonshire remain unaffected this Bank Holiday weekend, but the council offices at The Forum will be closed on Monday.

South Northamptonshire Council's (SNC) office and the library at The Forum will be closed on Monday, 28 August and re-open as normal at 9am on Tuesday, 29 August.

Anglian Water Services will be bringing their Customer Support Unit just north of the road closure on Wednesday 16th August, at the Equestrian Lorry Park, Banbury Road, Aston le Walls, from 10am.
