Our Council continues to work towards putting in place voting changes as a result of the Elections Act.
The new Act brings in a number of changes to the way we vote, as well as to campaigning and the rules on campaign spending and funding.
The Government is proposing changes to require voters at polling stations to show photo ID before they receive their ballot paper.

Action Fraud has received 139 crime reports relating to fake text messages purporting to be from the UK government. The texts state that the recipient is "owed" or "eligible" for an energy bill discount as part of the Energy Bill Support Scheme. It’s time to apply for your child’s school place for September 2023

From 9 September parents and carers can apply for a reception place in a primary or infant school, a year 3 place in a junior school, or a Year 7 place in a secondary school for the September 2023 intake.

Parents and carers will now be able to apply up until 12 midnight on the closing dates for both Primary and Secondary applications, making the process easier and fairer for families.
